đź“š Introducing the Smarter Book Club: Discover What Books Top Authors Love!

Dive into the books that inspire authors and join our live discussions!

You asked so we delivered! We’re excited to announce the launch of the Slightly Smarter Book Club. Each month, a notable author will select a book that has profoundly impacted their life. If you’ve ever wondered, “what books do authors love?,” look no further.

Our first pick comes from Marnie Stockman, co-author of Lead It Like Lasso. For July 2024, she’s chosen Reality is Broken: Why Games Make Us Better and How They Change the World by Jane McGonigal.

Reality is Broken

Stockman is an Ed Tech veteran, podcast host, and successful entrepreneur who sold Lifecycle Insights, a reporting platform for IT business owners. As a (previously frustrated) mom of a gamer, former teacher, and software CEO, she finds the concept of using games to improve the world incredibly compelling.

Read & Discuss: Smarter Book Club Live Event

No formal membership is required to join the Smarter Book Club. Read Reality is Broken during July and join us for a live book club discussion with Bits & Books on Friday, July 26th at 12pm EST. Dive into the insights and share your thoughts with fellow readers!

Smarter Thought Starters from Marnie Stockman

As you read Reality is Broken, consider these questions:

  • Embracing Failure: In games, failure leads to success. How can we create environments that embrace failure as a path to innovation?

  • Enhancing Experiences: Games provide immersive experiences. How can businesses apply game design to boost customer loyalty?

  • Leveraging Gamification: Gamification has transformative potential. How can leaders use it to stand out and attract clients?

  • Improving the World: How can educators and leaders use gamification to make a positive impact?
